Happy Thanksgiving!

Sterling Silver Comics will be closed for the holiday this Thursday, but we’ll be back to our regular hours on Friday, stuffed with turkey and green bean casserole and not enough cranberry sauce! We hope you have a great holiday!

Local Comic Shop Day is Saturday, November 28th!

Sterling Silver Comics will be celebrating Local Comic Shop Day on November 28th, starting at 11 AM, and we’ll be offering special limited variant editions of comics and graphic novels while supplies last! The special items will be limited to one each per customer, and we are contractually obligated to not hold them aside, so if you want ’em, c’mon in! Variants include Dark Knight III, Back to the Future, All-New All-Different Avengers and many more…visit the official Local Comic Shop Day website for details!

Just acquired…

…a collection of a couple hundred comics from the 1970s/early 1980s, a few samples of which are pictured below:

Mostly Marvel, with a few later DCs. Dazzler, Ka-Zar, Moon Knight, Micronauts, Star Wars, John Carter Warlord of Mars, and lots more! Come on by and check ’em out…we’re still getting these processed for sale, but if you see anything in the box that you have to have right now, we’ll price it on the spot!

One year later!

One year ago today, after a long, long time of managing a store for other folks, I opened my very own shop here in Camarillo, CA. I was pretty nervous about it, as you could probably imagine, but all of my customers have been great and very welcoming, and that nervousness quickly turned into a feeling of “why didn’t I do this sooner?”

Thank you all very much for your patronage and your patience over this first year, and I greatly look forward to continuing to serve up your regularly-required doses of comic books for years to come!

In other news…if you remember customer Mark’s great costume from Halloween, if you could pop over to Facebook and vote for him in the ComicFest costume contest, I’d really appreciate it! (Or you can just go to the main site and search “sterling silver comics” — his entry will pop up!)
